We
are going to celebrate India-Taiwan Friendship
Week from 22nd February 2014 to 3rd
March 2014. Four very senior bonsai artists are coming to India and we are
going to have Bonsai related programmes in Mumbai, Bangaluru and Mysore. There
will be demonstrations on our mature tropical plants and workshops for many
bonsai enthusiasts to participate and take first hand instructions from the
Taiwanese teachers.
Take this golden opportunity to learn
bonsai in different styles and also develop friendship between two countries.
Here are the profiles of artists from
Taiwan.
Mr. Chen Cang Sing
He is a patron of Bonsai Art. He
promotes Bonsai, flowers, fruits and trees exhibitions and encourages research
in fruiting trees and orchids in Taiwan.
Mr. Min Hsuan Lo
He is
known to all Indian Bonsai Friends. He is widely travelled to USA, China, Japan,
Malayasia, Philippines, South Africa and India. His gentle nature is endearing.
He has won many national and international awards including JAL World contest
1999.
Mr. Shiu Wen Ren
He
is a professional Bonsai expert for more than 20 years. He is good at Ficus
trees, Premna hetrophylla, and many tropical trees.
Mr. Ho Yung Yu
He started doing
bonsai from very young age and learnt the art from his father. He started
teaching bonsai from 2012. In last two
years he has won many prestigious awards in Taiwan.
Mr. Yu Ching Yuan
He is one of the most
experienced bonsai experts of Taiwan. He has judged many bonsai competitions
and has also won many awards himself. He has travelled to Malayasia, Philippine
and China to give demonstrations.
Registration & Meal Costs/Charges

Rs. 8000/- for the 3 days event (Inclusive of lunch & tea/coffee/snacks)
·
For outstation participants, if 8 persons register for all 3 days, 8th
person will be free. Please inform of your registration with names and days by
email nikunjyo@gmail.com or sbhat@hotmail.com. All payments will be on cash basis on arrival.

Charges for 1 day registration will be Rs. 3000/- only.
·
Workshop charges will be Rs. 5000/- per person including plant and
wires. Participants have to bring their own tools. Two out-station persons will
be given chance for a workshop in every session. Remaining 4 participants will
be from Mumbai. Kindly specify your choice of plant in advance. As there is a
limited time slots for demonstrations as well as workshops, it will be done on
first come first basis only.

There will be workshops on 4 plants of the following varieties:
Bolan- a Chinese plant
Pithecellobium tortum- Brazilian rain tree
Strebulus asper- Sand paper
Carmona microphylla- Wax malpighia
Each Taiwanese
friend/expert will help with 6 plants during his workshop every day.
